About The Playbook

The Playbook project has been commissioned by the British Council in Russia. The concept has been developed with a number of other EUNIC members, Cultural Institutes, Public Diplomacy organisations and discussions with NGO. 

It is edited by Nick Cull and Ali Fisher.



Director, Master of Public Diplomacy Program, USC

Nicholas J. Cull is Professor of Public Diplomacy and Director of the Masters Program in Public Diplomacy at USC. He took both his BA and PhD at the University of Leeds. While a graduate student he studied at Princeton in the USA as a Harkness Fellow of the Commonwealth Fund of New York. From 1992 to 1997 he was lecturer in American History at the University of Birmingham. Director, Mappa Mundi Consulting

Ali Fisher is Director of Mappa Mundi Consulting, Mappa Mundi’s staff have a history of working with governments, Fortune 500 companies, foreign ministries, cultural relations agencies and NGOs, to develop effective research and strategy for engaging with international audiences. Ali was previously director of Counterpoint, the British Council’s research think-tank (2006-7), and lecturer in International Relations at the University of Exeter. More…
